Speaking of Faith With Krista Tippett

I’ve been listening to Speaking of Faith each Sunday for about a year and thoroughly enjoy the dialogue bewteen Krista and her guests. Krista covers a broad variety of topics, including Passover, the legacy of John Paul II, the teachings of Thich Nhat Hahn, Elie Wiesel and reflections on the death penalty in the United States. Krista’s guests are superb and the background music is calming and inspiring. Each show is a conversation about ideas and the meaning of life. There is no preaching. The listener is free to agree or disagree. The conversational approach produces understanding. And Krista has a sultry yet calming voice. The program is also available as a free podcast.

EagleFiler: New Software for Keeping Track of Stuff on a Mac

I have been using Yojimbo and DevonThink Pro to keep web archives, PDFs and notes on my Mac. Yojimbo sometimes is really slow and support has been disappointing. DevonThink Pro is complicated and files don’t show up in Spotlight. I am now testing EagleFiler and I like it so far. It is simple. The database is open. The main missing feature is that search terms aren’t yet highlighted but developer Michael Tsai says that’s coming. Michael also responds to issues and questions almost immediately.
